The Women President’s Organization & Los Angeles Magazine weigh in on the future of Southern California Business & Innovation at the Inaugural Summit on What’s Trending and Transforming the Southern California Business Climate.

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 16, 2015) — Los Angeles and Orange County members of the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), a nonprofit, peer advisory group for leaders of multi-million dollar entrepreneurial enterprises, will meet on Saturday afternoon, March 14th at an inaugural business summit hosted by Los Angeles magazine. Designed to identify critical trends that will impact the future of business in Southern California, the summit will take place at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel.
Not since the early days of the 20th Century has Los Angeles experienced such as growth spurt as it is currently enjoying. WPO member businesses have a significant impact on the nation’s economy. In Los Angeles and Orange County alone, WPO members generate $24 million in average annual revenue and $1.9 billion in aggregate total revenue, with a total of 9,264 employees.
“Women-led businesses are experiencing extraordinary growth, generating increased revenue and employment, and fueling renewed confidence in the economy,” said Marsha Firestone, Ph.D., WPO President and Founder. “Los Angeles and Orange County have had an exceptional history of innovative entrepreneurs. WPO helps successful women business leaders accelerate the growth of their companies,” she said.
Mary Melton, Editor-in-Chief of Los Angeles magazine, will moderate a panel discussion exploring the Southern California business climate, infrastructure, geography and architecture expected to impact areas over the next two years. Los Angeles magazine editors who contributed to “L.A. On The Verge,” the theme of the magazine’s May cover story, will be among the panelists. An interactive session will follow, where summit attendees divided into industry groups will forecast and share urgent issues they anticipate facing in 2015.

Limited to 100 participants, the event is open to qualified women business owners with a minimum of $2 million in annual gross revenue for a product-based company, or $1million if a service-based company.
