I saw the most charming, romantic play at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts with my dear friend Laurel Barrack called “Parfumerie” starring Deborah Ann Woll and Eddie Kaye Thomas. You may recognize Deborah from the popular Showtime series “True Blood”; she plays the fiery red-headed vampire Jessica Hamby.
The play runs through the end of December. For more details, visit TimeOut.com for venue and ticket information.
You’ve heard the story. Boy meets girl. Boy and girl bicker. Boy and girl happen to be communicating anonymously, revealing their most private selves to each other and falling in love in the process. From the classic film (we love you, Meg Ryan!) You’ve Got Mail and The Shop Around The Corner to the musical She Loves Me, it’s a template we know well–now check out the original version in Miklós László’s play, Parfumerie. Cast highlights include Richard Schiff, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Deborah Ann Woll and Arye Gross.
