If you’re interested in the world of food, you may be familiar with Eater.com. Eater dishes trends, food and restaurant news, travel food guides, prizes, and much, much more. Naturally, Eater also covers the annual World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards, which took place in Melbourne, Australia, this week.
In case you were wondering, the awards are chosen by a panel of about 1,500 “food writers, chefs and restaurateurs, and well-traveled gastronomes.”
Interestingly, according to an article this week in Eater, “Since the rankings debuted in 2002, just seven restaurants have held the no. 1 spot.” New York’s Eleven Madison Park rose to number one this year–a pretty precipitous ascent from #50 in 2010. To see the complete list of the seven best-of-the-best restaurants, visit Eater’s “Here’s Every Restaurant That’s Topped the World’s 50 Best List.”
