The day started out with a delicious breakfast at Meadowood, a luxury Napa Valley Resort.

By mid-day, we began the magnificent car rally by circling Lake Hennessey and Lake Berryessa; an absolutely incredible drive through Napa Valley where we saw the changing colors of the exquisite vineyards.

The car collectors and individual cars that participated included a magnificent 1932 Ford hot rod driven by the organizer of the event, Bruce Meyer of Beverly Hills.

I saw a gorgeous million-dollar 1961 Mercedes Benz. Bobby Rahal drove the latest Bentley, and Peter Mullin drove a brand new $2,500,000 Bugatti!

Of course I had the spectacularly good fortune to drive the Ferrari FF4.  There are only two of these Ferrari’s in all of California. It seats 4, is both an automatic and a manual, and the handmade interiors and precision of the car are beyond description – what an exciting car to drive.  The Ferrari FF4 can be purchased through David Christiansen at Ferrari of San Francisco, 415.384.4318.

In the later afternoon, we visited the sensational Palmaz Vineyards in Napa Valley (http://www.palmazvineyards.com/) where we had a wine tasting and a personal tour of their facilities by Christian Palmaz.  Christian runs their wine operation and described their extremely scientific development for the production of wine and enabled us to purchase some of their sold out 2007 label.

In the evening, the very special guests were treated to a magnificent dinner at The Reserve (http://www.thenapavalleyreserve.com/), hosted by Phillip and Carole Norfleet.  The Reserve is in the heart of Napa Valley, set on eighty-acres, and the property is framed on all sides by natural boundaries; truly defining a proportion that is perfectly suited for a fine wine estate. My niece, Gretchen Kimball, is in charge of the breathtaking landscaping at the estate.   We enjoyed a discussion with Robert “Bobby” Woodward Rahal who is an American auto racing driver and team owner. As a driver he won three championships and 24 races in the CART open-wheel series, including the 1986 Indianapolis 500. He also won the 2004 Indianapolis 500 as a team owner for the winning driver, Buddy Rice.

This weekend will definitely be one of my fondest life experiences I have had yet.   I loved every minute.
