The Milken Global Conference is right in our backyard at The Beverly Hilton. Three and a half days of brilliant speakers and state of the art ideas all of which you can see online. I am enclosing a link for each of the ones I attended.
The Lunch Program was my favorite: “This Changes Everything: How Technology is Revolutionizing Medicine” Everyone should take the time to watch it. You will be amazed at the medical future. http://www.milkeninstitute.org/events/conferences/global-conference/2016/panel-detail/6253
I love listening to Kathryn Ireland, Seth & Elizabeth Rogen, and Maria Shriver talk about “Strategic Advocacy: Persuading People to Care”. It starts with their personal passion. The dinner conversation Monday night was a fascinating discussion between two fabulous Hollywood Icons, Tom Hanks & Brian Grazer. So much talent focused on one stage both of them with great personalities recalling their entertaining experience. After dinner, a late night show with David Foster, my favorite way to end my evening.
A section with Ayaan Hirsi Ali told where she related her amazing life story to Mary Hart. She has had a fascinating journey growing up as a Muslim girl in Somalia and ultimately migrating to the United States She has been targeted by the radical Muslim extremists because she has spoken out in favor of Islamic reform.
“Leaders of Companies that are Changing the World” Speakers included: John Mackey, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Whole Foods Market, Strive Masiyiwa, Founder and Chairman, Econet Wireless, Blake Mycoskie, Founder and Chief Shoe Giver, Toms, and Kristin Groos Richmond, CEO and Co-Founder, Revolution Foods
“Tech vs. Talk: Is Technology Changing Human Relationships?” The answer is a resounding yes. A study showed that Modern college students are 40% less empathetic due to their device driven lives. However aid is on the way. A five week holiday free of all technology can perhaps restore proper empathetic levels.
Congratulations to Michael Milken and his wonderful institute for their fabulous work in so many areas. I loved every minute of the conference.
