Well I definitely have never heard this before. Apparently cooking food in the dishwasher is among a latest trend. Similar to poaching or sous vide, where food is air sealed in a bag and cooked in hot water, the hot water and steam inside the dishwasher is an equally effective method of cooking your food.
Of course it’s only energy efficient if you also have a full load in the machine. I suppose it may be convenient if you can’t man a pot of boiling water for an hour and instead can just toss a sealed bag into the dishwasher. Not sure if it’s a trend I will be picking up any time soon but I thought it was entertaining nonetheless.
