The talented David Myers of Comme Ça and Pizzeria Ortica is opening a new restaurant in the Century. I just love the fabulous drinks at Comme Ça so I am really looking forward to trying another one of his restaurants.

It looks like chef David Myerswill be adding to his roster of popular restaurants, which include Comme Ça in West Hollywood and Pizza Ortica in Costa Mesa, by opening a new restaurant in Century City in late 2012.
The as-yet-unnamed restaurant will be located on the first level of the Century, the 41-story skyscraper of luxury condos nestled between CAA and Fox Studios and filled with a variety of high-profile tenants.
If this doesn’t sound big-league enough already, the developer behind the project is Related Inc., which also owns New York City’s Time Warner Center, a property that is home to some of the country’s most lavish restaurants, including Thomas Keller’s Per Se and Masayoshi Takayama’s Masa.
Myers will be serving lunch and dinner in the massive new space, designed by Milo Garcia, an interior designer whose work includes Venice’s slick celeb spot Gjelina. The “modern California cooking with Asian influences” menu will serve as a return to form for Myers, who served a simliar style of cooking at the late lamented Sona, which closed in 2010.
Expect a great deal of influence from the chef’s travels in Japan to show up on the plate as well: Myers spent the last year setting up a bevy of new restaurants in Tokyo, a place he often refers to as one of his favorite food cities.
“We’ll be focused on incredible ingredients blended with [influences of] the Silk Road path of Japan and southeast Asia,” he explained. “The menu will be a collection of my travel memories, housed in a setting that is truly unique to Los Angeles.”
